Watching water waste is as important as keeping carbon emissions down, says a new report by the Aldersgate Group published this week.
The need to cut the amount of carbon dioxide we’re releasing into the atmosphere is well known. But this isn’t the only area the UK should be focusing its attentions on.
According to the WWF, the area of land and water available to sustain an individual is currently 2.1 global hectares. But at the moment each person in the UK is using what amounts to 5.2 global hectares. Anyone can do the sums and see this simply isn’t sustainable.
Just as recycling and composting to reduce the amount we send to landfill can become habit, so must conserving water. It’s easier than most of us think, after all, letting the tap run while you’re brushing your teeth is a really odd idea when you give it some thought!
Here at Save Water Save Money we’re trying to do our bit to cut water waste and hope that we can help you to as well. Let us know the simple ways you save water, by sending us an email
